Window frames and facades division
Advanced technologies for high-performance windows and facades.
SMEA srl, designs, engineers and manufactures windows and doors of the following technologies:
- SCHUCO
- SAPA
- SECCO SISTEMI
- MOGS
- PALLADIUM
- TWIN SYSTEM
made of aluminum profiles with thermal break, aluminum / solid wood, aluminum with wood finish, steel, stainless steel and brass.
All the workings, including the coupling of the external and internal profiles through the spacer strip to realize the thermal cut, take place directly at our plant using the latest machinery, thus ensuring greater control in the quality of the product , a reduction of the times in the productive cycle with consequent greater economic competitiveness.
All windows ensure the highest levels of performance and comply with current regulations, both technical and fiscal, in terms of energy savings, ensuring maximum living comfort, high thermal and acoustic insulation and a perfect seal against atmospheric agents even in the most extreme.
A wide range of surface finishes is available, from electrocolouring to oven painting, in a wide range of colors to satisfy the customer's needs.
Particular attention is paid to the choice of gaskets and to the closing and handling hardware, which will always be suitable, certified and checked on the basis of the dimensions and weight of the doors.
The glazing, both glazed and blind, will always be provided in compliance with the safety regulations and in compliance with the performance requirements of the law.
The glazing can be supplied both with a snap-on glazing bead and suitable gaskets for the correct tightening, and with profiles with glass insertion, which do not require the use of glazing beads.
Windows frames
Beating system
The swing windows, can be made either with manual opening, or motorized in the following types:
- Opening at Anta
- Opening at Anta / Ribalta
- Wasistas opening
Sliding system
Sliding windows can be made with two or three "vie" tracks.
Possibility to make large mirrors like:
- Lifting lift
- Traslante (suitable for large mirrors)
- Parallel sliding
Our windows are characterized by the mechanics of opening / closing and for the ease of sliding.
Door system
The internal aluminum doors are characterized by high quality and aesthetic lightness, thanks to the use of rounded or squared telescopic profiles, suitable for all masonry and / or thickness requirements.
Continuos facades
Classic facades

- TEKNOWALL W50
- METRA POLIEDRASECCO SISTEMI 4F - TERMICA UP
SMEA S.r.l. designs, engineers and realizes mullion and transom facades; it is a system of tight doors and windows, conceptually simple but that thanks to various improvements and technological evolutions, has shown remarkable adaptability.
The curtain walls by uprights and crosspieces are processed in the workshop and assembled on site by laying and aligning the upright profiles and following the transverse profiles as the first stage of assembly. The lattice that is created, allows the installation of the infills that can be either glazed or blind or spandrel. Obviously, inside the reticule, the various openable mirrors can be inserted, usually protruding (even without visible frames), but also with hinged doors, vasistas, pantographs.
The various infillings are then tightened to the lattice thanks to the use of aluminum pressers, pre-equipped with suitable side seals for water and air tightness, which are then covered with profiles of external finishing folder.

SMEA S.r.l. designs, engineers and manufactures structural façades, with uprights and non-visible crosspieces, machined in the workshop and assembled on site by laying and aligning the upright profiles and following the transverse profiles as the first assembly phase.
The lattice that is created allows the installation of glazed panels that are applied on aluminum load-bearing frames by high-strength structural sealing and high adhesive properties so that the external loads applied to the windows are transmitted to the supporting frames of the structure. However, a non-visible mechanical coupling may be provided between the glass and the frame.
This system allows to obtain an aesthetic uniformity of the whole glazed surface constituting the continuous façade thanks to the total absence of aluminum profiles in sight.
Pointed continuos facades
SMEA S.r.l. designs, engineers and realizes suspended facades; they are made to provide greater transparency and brightness, characterized by an extreme aesthetic lightness.
From the outside, only the presence of punctiform fixings that mechanically hold both monolithic and double glazing composition glazes.
The fixing element has the task of "suspending" the plate punctually and transmitting the stresses to the supporting structure. There are several punctual elements including the "rotule" and the studs, generally in stainless steel, but can also be made with customized shapes and materials.
The joints between the glass can be free or sealed; the system makes it possible to realize curtain walls with climate control, external claddings for double-skin façades, tensile structures for roofs and ventilated façade claddings.
Ventilated facades
These, superimposed on the single internal façade, called reflexively "internal skin", creates a cavity in which the air is recirculated, evacuating part of the heat accumulated on the exterior.
The presence of external skin allows to reduce the thermal transmittance of the façade because the internal double-glazing is no longer in contact with the external environment, but with the interspace of façades that presents a higher temperature.
The movement of the air inside the ventilated cavity allows to cool both the glazed surfaces and the (Venetian blind) shielding, considerably reducing the thermal load that flows into the interior rooms. The movement originates by natural convention (chimney effect) obtaining a flow of ascending air whose intensity grows with increasing temperatures of the glass.
In the summer period this recirculation will be much more pronounced compared to the winter period in which the façade is kept at lower temperatures.
If, due to architectural requirements, the air gap and the air inlet / outlet sections are small, it is still possible to guarantee correct recirculation by means of ventilation fans which force air flow into the air space.
The double skin façade, acting on the movement of the shielding, makes it possible to vary the solar factor g of the façade during the day, obtaining, in the central hours, or in the maximum irradiation peak, a low solar factor, similar to what is offered by a selective glass.
Unlike the traditional single-skin façade, the performance of the double-skin façade can not be described only through the solar factor g and the average thermal transmittance of the façade U [W / m2K], but must be considered the dynamic behavior of the system , which adapts to the external thermal load.
With regard to the wellbeing of the users of the building, the double skin technology considerably reduces the surface temperature of the inner façade glass, as the windows themselves are cooled by the flow of air that circulates in the ventilated cavity, this reduction in temperature, combined with the presence of the shielding that intercepts part of the external solar radiation, makes it possible to reduce the thermal load in the internal rooms, with a consequent reduction in air conditioning costs.
